Q: New York City Honda Dealer Says $900 to change timing belt?
We have a 1990 Honda Accord. In 2000 when the car had 10,000 miles we had the timing belt replaced. Now the car has 50,000 miles and the Honda dealership is suggesting we change the timing belt. Two questions: a) does the timing belt have to be changed because it has been 7 years and b) is $900 excessive for this? Thanks in advance.
A: it is 400 bucks including waterpump and drive belts. and yes 7 yrs is long enought to get it done as the rubber starts to rot.
here is a phone number here in ohio that will give you a quote so u can get a reasonable idea of reality. (614) 792-5100. you also might want to examine the drive belts. see if they have an dry rot or show aging. if they do, then the timing belt will also. if they look great, forget about it. but for 400 bucks, u can err on the side of caution.

Q: How much would auto insurance normally cost for one person and a 98 honda accord in new york?
A: Depends on their credit, their driving record including tickets, accidents, violations, and how long they've been licensed, and which city in NY they are living in - not to mention, are you talking minimum liabiltiy only, or collision & comp on the car?
You're going to need to get a real quote from a local agent, as you're probably not going to post all that information for the world to see.
Q: I live in New York city, and yesterday I bought a used car (Hundai Tiburon) at a Honda dealer in Queens. I?
I live in New York city, and yesterday I bought a used car
financed the car. I drove this car for a couple of hours, and I am not happy with this car, and I would like to know if I have a right to return the car and cancel the financing within a certain amount of time, or am I stuck with thousands of dollars to pay for the next 5 years?
A: You bought it and now you get to keep it. Seriously though, you should have thought of this before you signed on the dotted line. You can call the dealer where you bought it and ask. All they can do is say no, and there are a few dealers who have a return policy.
Q: How to buy a Honda Accord in new york?

Q: Where can I find a hood for a 1999 Honda Accord in Connecticut or New York?
A: look in the yellow pages for a junk yard....if you cant find one then call a towing service and ask them if they can refer you to one....they take wrecked cars to them all the time...or you could check with a body shop....you can get one from the junk yard off the wrecked car if that part has not been damaged, get it installed, painted and voila no one is any the wiser
Q: What tires are recommended for a 1999 Honda Accord EX for under $100 in New York City?

Q: Do you have faith in Honda Dealer to give you Geniune Honda Part if you buy a brand new car?
If buying a brand new car from a reputed manufacturer like Honda and a authorized Honda Dealer, do you expect that you will be cheated to find out that the accessories you ordered are not Geniuine Honda Part. Don't you feel cheated of your hard earned money when the dealer installs cheap after market part without your consent or informing you at all. And then gives you a run around to correct it.
That is what the Huntington Honda Dealership in New York 11743 did to me.

A: No they cannot put in after market parts without your knowledge. It is part of there franchise agreement to only use OEM parts. What they did was against the law, check your states lemon laws. They can have their franchise revoked for that. If I were you I would pursue the matter further, see what you can get out of it. Contact Honda head office.

Q: How do I get a title in my name for a junk car w/ no orignal title--New York?
A friend of mine owns a junk yard. He gave me a car, 2001 Honda Civic. The car does NOT have a title, and is considered "Salvaged". The car itself is not in that bad of condition, it was just vandilized and abandonded..so it needs a new windshield, maybe a new paintjob, and a deep cleaning inside, but other than that, the car is good condition. I know that I will have to get these things repaired before we have it inspected.
What my biggest concern is getting it titled into my name, being that we have no title to begin with. The man at the junkyard has no additional information on the car's previous owner. I need this title in order to insure, register, and put plates on this vehicle. I dont know what to do here. I have searched the internet with no luck, maybe someone who knows the NY dmv can help me out.
A: You have two choices to make to get a title. One easy but costing a little and the other cheap but you will have to do documentation to get one.
First, if you look on the internet for auto title companies you will find there are numerous title companies, especially one in LasVegas I use where you give them the vin number and for $149 they send you a clear title for the car notorized for you to sign into your name and then you just take the title and car to your sheriff's dept for inspection just as any other out of state car you transfer. Even if the title was junked in your state they have no way to find out that it wasn't rebuilt and retitled in another state. This will be a clean title too, not a rebuild. Now if you want to go through the trouble you can call your clerk's office where you transfer vehicles and ask them what documentation you need to get a rebuild title for a vehicle. Don't volunteer any more info than they ask for. In the eyes of the govt a vehicle won't be junked out unless there is something wrong with it. This means you will probably have to get a few receipts for parts you put on it to repair it whether it be spark plugs or whatever. Keep receipts for everything you do to it as you will need them in the process. Most states allow you to reinstate a junked title as a salvage or rebuild title with the right documentation. Some states require a statement from the person who junked it stating why it was junked and then you need a receipt where you purchased it. I recommend the title service as it is a no-hassle way to get a title and get it quick. The other process takes up to a couple months sometimes to get taken care of. Hope this helps.
