Q: fuel pump for 1997 chevy pick up truck, dallas,tx.and garland,tx. area?

A: what does this look like a parts store? what size motor? your gonna have to call a parts store to find out. Some of the fuel pumps are the complete assembly and run well over 150.00. I have a 95 v6 and got lucky with just getting the actual pump. The other truck i have is a 98 v8 and it's the entire assembly. As well as the 98 v8 Tahoe,i have. if you don't want to be replacin' pumps like crazy,( four times in 2 months in the Tahoe) get a GM pump, and yes they can get up to 500.00 or more. I had to change the Tahoe's pump out 4 times, with a pump i got from aap, but the retarded sales man didn't let me know i needed a wiring harness for their fuel pump. so ask about that too. after i used the harness i have never had a problem with the fuel pump in the Tahoe

Q: How do I stop and get rid of Rust on the undercarriage of a car?
I have a 1994 Chevy Caprice Classic. It's car that was driven in the North (Western N.Y.) I now have it here in Dallas, TX. The under side has quite a bit of rust. Does anyone know of a way to stop the rust and salavage an otherwise good vehicle. If you point me in the right direction, or suggest someone or business I can make connect with for further advise, that would be great.

A: Man they make stuff called Rust Mort it kills rust and keeps it from spredding its made by SEM. Also Permetex makes a gel people call it naval jelly works the same as rust mort. my suggestion use this then apply a primer or paint to keep it from forming on other surfaces check for these products at your local advance auto parts

Q: How much will they lower prices on desiel trucks for desiel being so high?
I know here in Dallas, TX they've already got $9000 knocked off the Duramax at some Chevy houses.. Has anyone heard if dodge will be knockin' em down too?!

A: Who knows, but I do know it's not worth buying one. Heck with desiel going up so much you will throw all that and then some right back in fuel................. that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions......... LOL!

Q: Dallas to Houston!?
I am taking my moms Chevy Tahoe to HOuston on Friday and i am not comforatble driving something that big but i will do anything to see my gf! The question that I am trying to ask is....how is I45 south do they still have it narrowed down to 1 lane with concrete barriors on both sides of the lane like they did about 6 months ago!? could yall please answer this question i will give 10 points with fastest response and most accurate and detailed when i get back to Dallas on this Sun!!! I am leaving about 11 or noon so i can be there by 4!! i am just afraid that i am going to wreck my moms tahoe!

A: I'm originally from Richardson, but have moved to the Houston area (3 years ago) and I go back once a month. Yes...narrow one lane construction. The worst part is just between the Woodlands and Conroe. There really isn't a better way to go. Ok, my positive thoughts are with you...be awake, keep your eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel, keep your distance from other drivers, drive the posted speed limit. Pay attention to the other drivers and do not fear the barriers...sounds weird, but do not give them the power to scare you and you'll be fine! Oh, when I moved, I was driving a moving van, pulling my car...just my son, my dog, cat and me. We drove through those barriers without a care in the world. Just think...if those huge 18-wheelers can do it, you certainly can! Enjoy your time in H-Town! (Sorry if I sound like a Mom!)

Q: Does is sound normal for a Chevy dealer to estimate $500-$600 to replace a manifold cover in a Trailblazer?
I came into the Chevy dealership (one that my wife and I trust over another dealership that seams to overcharge) and talked to the service shop manager about the "Service Engine Soon" light. (Fortunately, since I had just purchased an oil change, he didn't charge me the normal $80 to investigate the SES light.) After hooking up his electronic test/monitoring gadget, the service shop manager said the manifold cover needed to be replaced. He raised the hood and showed me this. He said it was letting oxygen into some other parts (can't remember -- the catalytic converter and/or the engine). I asked what would be the consequences if we didn't address this. He said we could do permanent damage to the engine, and these engines are expensive. (When I asked if "expensive" meant $2500-$3000, he laughed and said the engine is more like $8000!) I also asked him why this would happen to my SUV (it's a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer LT Extended, V8). He said that with the extreme temperature changes (e.g. 72 one day, 31 the next) it's not uncommon. I then asked what the repair bill would be, and he said $500 to $600 including parts and labor. I asked if he could do it now but since it was already 2 PM and he had a full shop, he asked if I could bring it in early tomorrow morning and he'd have all the parts/equipment ready-to-go. I said fine; I'd see him around 7:30 AM. Does this seem like good advice? Has anyone else had to do this repair? I'm driving to Guadalajara, Mexico starting on Friday (12/19) from the north side of the Dallas metroplex, and I certainly don't want to take any big risks with auto reliability.

A: datediscrete, I had similar problems last spring and was glad I got my repairs covered under my extended warranty. They are cheaper if you buy them aftermarket. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Warranty.html
