Q: How long does a train ride from Pontiac Michigan to Chicago Illinois take?
A: I'm not sure about the time from Dearborn to Pontiac, but the ride from Dearborn to Chicago was 5 hours, same as driving.
Q: What size trailer can I pull (from florida to chicago) with a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am 4cyliner?
I am very desparte for an anwser soon cause I am press for time and money and I am leaving on the 30th of August
A: I agree with Icarus. Pulling a trailer with a vehicle not designed for it is dangerous. Example, I saw a Chrysler mini van pulling a trailer with another Chrysler mini van on it. The tow vehicle broke in half in the middle, jackknifed, spread it's contents all over the highway, flipped the trailer with the other mini van, and caused one heck of a traffic jam. Driver and passenger were OK but shook up bad.
Q: im lookin for some1 in the chicago area that can fix up a 1995 pontiac bonneville for a decent price?
or if u have parts for the bumber the hood and front lights
A: check a salvage (junk) yard.
Q: is Gillepie Pontiac in Chicago, IL a good dealer?
A: The service department is excellent, bought a 05' Pontiac @ Haggerty in Oak Lawn, didn't care for the dealer, service was worse it took days to get in for service. Gillespie was great and when GM send you their questionnaire about the service if you bring it in you get a free oil change. The sales people often harass the customers waiting in the service department.
I promised myself if I were to buy a new car I would go w/Gillespie, but this last time I got a Saturn instead, My Pontiac I was in and out the service department (about once a month) this car I've been to service once in a little less than a year.
Q: Where in Chicago can I find a store that sell PONTIAC GTO MODELS?
A: Any Pontiac dealership, be advised they must be ordered as they are actually Austrailian built cars.
Q: Pontiac engines for cheap?? will a 3.8 liter v6 fit in my grand am gt?? chicago illinois?
1999 pontiac grand am gt;; it has a 3.4 liter v6, but the engine is bad and i have to replace it, autozone will charge me $1,700 for a new 3.4 liter engine;; but i wanted to know of any junk yards here on the southside of chicago that i would be able to get a cheap used engine, i also have seen engines for sale on ebay, and was wondering if those were any good. but i wanted to know. will a 3.8 liter v6 from a pontiac grand prix fit into my grand am?? it would be cool to have more power
A: It will be fit. I have seen someone put a 3.8 liter supercharged from a Grand Prix GTP. If you get a 3.8 without the supercharger you will get about 20 more horsepower and 25 more lb.ft of torque. I dont think it would be worth it. Just go with the 3.4 and with a few mods you can get the 20 more hp. Just my opinion.
Q: I am thinking about getting a Pontiac Fiero GT for a year round daily driver. Ilive in the midwest "Chicago "
Am fairly mechanical Couldn't afford one when new. Cool looking Body no rust.Is this a good choice? Been a gear head my whole life. Input please!
A: being a dealership tech for 30 years,i was around when that car came out & was "chosen" to get trained on the new product (back then the dealership had to have a tech "trained" on a new product to receive that product) so i wound up getting "stuck" with them when one came in. i hated those cars they had a overheat problem with the 4 cly & you coudn't keep them from leaking oil. the v6 gt's with 5 speed had a recall on the internal shift linkage.(it seems like if you like "grabbing" the gears the linkage interlock pin breaks & the linkage hangs up) & let me tell you , "you ain't lived" till you've pull the transaxle on one of those, to sum it up YOU COULD NOT GIVE ME ONE
Q: mustang vs pontiac solstice?
so i have a 40th anniversary mustang n i really want the pontiac solstice and really dont know which 1 is better ... like 4 everything .im a girl n i live in chicago n the winters here are just "lovely"
ya im not gettin the pontiac im now interested in the saturn sky.
A: Saturn Skye is the same car, so this advice still applies! The Solstice is not necessarily worse in snow - tires are the critical key there. And as far as the Mustang being more collectible in the future... Well, the future hasn't been written yet. My feeling is the Solstice, even in base form, is still more rare than the Mustang, 40th anniversary stickers aside. Solstice GXP/Skye Redline will keep up with most Mustangs, and beat those sixes. The Solstice also comes with 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance, etc.
But if you need a trunk/back seat, there is really no comparison...

Q: what is a good site for FREE auto insurance?
ok so im tired of sites making me give away all my personal information just so i can see what owning a type of car would be a year. the 2 cars i am looking to insure are either a newer lotus elise or a 79-81 Pontiac trans am. im 22 male in Chicago with now accidents or bad credit. i need an estimate or a site, thank you!
A: On www.allstate.com you don't even have to give you name to get a "ballpark quote". And if you choose them, it'd be hard to find a better company to work with.
Q: Where are the best viewing spots in a football stadium?
My kids want to get their dad a ticket for Christmas. It will need to be on the visitor side at Detroit Lions football field. (Pontiac Silverdome?) We were thinking 20 rows up at the 50 yard line and prices are around $200. I figure the cheaper the price, the cheaper the view so this area must be a good one. My husband is a Chicago Bears fan and we live in Michigan so watching the Lions and the Bears live would be very special for him. He's been to Bears games in Chicago but we can't ask him for obvious reasons. They are playing 12/24/06.
A: Anywhere between the 35 yard lines are great. Sometimes higher is better. We had front row/ 50 yard line seats to the Orange Bowl a few years back and all we could see was players asses.
20 rows up should be fine. Check the prices for each section, you might find seats a few rows higher are less money.
Call the stadium box office just to make sure.
Have fun.

Q: THE KID I did not kill Kilraine.I have never been in Pontiac.I never saw Curly before.Otto erred sayn i guilty
Daniel Kilraine was killed on a lonely road, two miles from Pontiac, Michigan, at 3:30 A.M. on March 17 of last year. Otto, Curly, Slim, Mickey and the Kid were arrested a week later in Detroit and questioned. Each of the five made four statements, three of which were true and one of which was false. One of these persons killed Kilraine. Their statements were:
OTTO: I was in Chicago when Kilraine was murdered. I never killed anyone. The Kid is the guilty one. Mickey and I are pals
CURLY: I did not kill Kilraine. I never owned a revolver in my life. The Kid knows me. I was in Detroit the night of March 17
SLIM: Curly lied when he said he never owned a revolver. The murder was committed on St. Patrick's Day. Otto was in Chicago at the time. One of us is guilty
MICKEY: I did not kill Kilraine. The kid has never been in Pontiac. I never saw Otto before. Curly was in Detroit with me on the night of March 17
WHO DID IT???
THE KIDS statement is in the headline too long to fit in here
A: Since the kid says he is innocent twice, both statements must be true. Otto says the kid is guilty, which we know is not true. That must be Otto's lie. Therefore, his other statements are all true, and he is innocent. Since Otto is telling the truth when he says "Mickey and I are pals", Mickey's statement "I never saw Otto before" must be his lie. All Mickey's other statements are therefore true, including "I did not kill Kilraine" as well as "The kid has never been in Pontiac." The kid's statement "I have never been in Pontiac" must be true, leaving his lie as "I never saw Curly before." Slim's second, third, and fourth statements we already know are true, so we know he is lying about about Curly lying when he said he never owned a revolver. Curly's second, third, and fourth statements are known to be true, so his first statement, I did not kill Kilraine, must be the lie.
CURLY IS THE GUILTY ONE
Either he didn't use a revolver to do it, or he borrowed one from a friend.
Q: Where on the Internet can I find specs to older Pontiac's, specifically the Grand Am GT 2001?
I have a 2001 Grand Am GT in great condition and I love it, but this past year I was parking and as I pulled into the parking spot, I pushed the front end into a snowbank and it did a lot of damage to the plastic thing where the fog lamps are (darn hard crusty snow in Chicago). It's not like I bashed into it going 30 MPH either. Anyway, A friend of mine offered to go to a junkyard to look for one, but I need to see which years of Pontiac's would have that same part. Any help would be appreciated!
A: A lot of the time the guys at the junk yard know what years are compatible. But check out this link it might help.
