Q: How much does it cost to ship a Honda Scooter Metropolitan that weights 176 pounds from Boston to Cairo Egypt?

A: It would be cheaper to buy a new one in egypt (if they have them there).

Q: Has Anyone installed 6" Boston Pro seperates in a 97-01 Honda Prelude?
Is there any special modification required to make them fit properly into the door panels? I have one source telling me that it is a particularly difficult install.. for whatever reason they do not fit right in... im bummed because theyre ballin ass speakers and i want to be able to use them... any insight from those of you who have experience with this install would make my day... thanks guys

A: yes its goin to be difficult and time consuming. you can build a kick panel to attach to your door panel that will hold both the mid bass driver and the tweeter. this may not be the easiest way but definitely is the cleanest way of doing it. just start by either buying or making an mdf ring that fits the driver and the tweeter and then secure them to the door temp. and cover with fleece then just fiberglass the whole door panel. much cleaner door panel and stands out from the rest of the preludes.

Q: How long does it take to ship a new honda civic from Japan to the US Dealership?(Boston Area)?
Honda Civic was manufactured in Japan. How long does it take to get from Japan to the dealership? Its a 2007 Honda Civic Si. Dealer said it was manufactured in Japan on the 22nd of July. They seemed very confident they would have it by Mid August. But then one of the sales guys said it might take six weeks. Thoughts? I was mistaken. I spoke to the dealer today and they said it was being manufactured in OH from the 22-26 of July.

A: After the vehicle has been built and assigned to a common carrier then your dealership will get a notification on its "assigned-in transit" report that is updated every day except Sunday. This will track your particular vehicle from manufacturing point to dealership and give the ETA at the dealership (give or take a couple of days for transportation issues. If your dealer has a VIN# then they have already started the process and you should be able to get daily updates as to the location state by state until it arrives at the dealership. You can always let me know and I can track it for you if your dealership will not help but I cannot beleive they will not be happy to give you this info.

Q: Where is the scs connector on a 2000 honda accord?
My SRS light is on and I wanted to see if I could reset it on my own before I had to bring it to a shop. I live in Boston so I don't know if I will be able to pass inspection with that light on.

A: I don't know if the connector you are looking for is in the exact same place as in this posting, but here is a link that should give you an idea of what you are looking for: http://www.geocities.com/myintegra96/srs.html If there really is a problem with the airbag, the light will probably come right back on. I would take it in and have it checked out just to be safe. There was an airbag related recall on the 2000 Accord, but I don't know if it would trigger the light.

Q: Do I need a car with AWD if I move to Boston or New Haven, or Providence, or New Hampshire?
I currently have a Honda Civic, and I'd be willing to buy another one.

A: Depends on where you'll live and where you'll commute. A lot of roads are relatively flat around New England and are kept clear of snow for the most part. It's those areas that are hilly or not cleaned off that you should be concerned about. I had a 2003 Civic when I first moved here. It was perfectly fine until I spent my first winter in the Worcester hills. My 50 mile commute is primarily on interstates except for the 1 mile from my house to the entrance ramp. Unfortunately, it contains a steep downhill and uphill which is difficult to navigate even w/ a FWD. Ended up trading the Civic in for an AWD.

Q: On average how much does it cost in Boston?...........?
I'm interested in How much (roughly) on average does it cost to insure a Honda Civic in Boston? I'm 24 and been driving about 6months. Thanks!

A: There is not ONE insurance company that is good for everyone - as there are too many variables to consider! Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE! It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record. Some companies run credit scores and MOST run a motor vehicle report and CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report to see about undisclosed accident involvement. The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies. An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. In my agency, we have companies that do NOT run a credit score and welcome drivers with "less than perfect" driving records and specialize in youthful operators! Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person every time you have a problem! Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!

My car is shot, it's a Toyota had a honda at one point, Toyota's are by far superior, but I am having problems with my dash lighting and I want a repair shop that's honest and that knows Toyota's. Anyone?

A: i_like_to_flip_yay, I had similar problems last year and was glad I got my repairs covered under my extended warranty. They are cheaper if you buy them aftermarket. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Warranty-Quote.html

Q: Honda car no title?
I did trade my accord for a crv at Herb Chambers honda in Boston. they told me they just got the CRV and the bank has the title. It wont be at the dealer for 5-7 days. i did put a deposite and they told me to drive my car until they get the title. Is this normal or is something fishy about it? How long does it take usually for the bank to send the title? less than a week?... please advise. I paying the difference cash. so the CRV will be paid in full. The dealership told me that all they have now is the bank word ( the title should be there within a couple of days).

A: That is very normal, the bank still had the title from the previous owner. So dont worry about, you will have your new CRV in no time. Good luck with new car!!

Q: Cannot Decide about the Move to Boston!?
So I got a job offer to work at a physical therapy clinic at a place in Medfield, MA but there is no public transportation to get there. I would basically be moving to Boston for this job(it's at the Kingsbury Club), so a) is the commute from the city, or surrounding areas of Boston in a honda accord, to Medfield bad, this includes traffic winter weather etc.? b.) what is a good place to stay that is affordable and between the city and Medfield that is on the T and not the commuter rail. I really wanted to move to Boston for the Bike-Walk friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed walking and being in the city but I'm mostly concerned that if the job offer is in Medfield that I won't exactly reap those benefits if I'm outside the city a lot, meaning I will be driving at least an hour everyday and than in addition to that I will be living outside of the city. Does anyone have any suggestions of whether this is worth move, or do you live outside the city are are still able to get to Boston without it being a hassle and $$..or should I stay in Atlanta and wait for something more suitable to come along. Thanks for any suggestions, I have to decide today! UGH!

A: you can absolutely reap the benefits of living in the city without actually living in the city... it's not that difficult to get in and out of the city. i suggest you live closer to where you're going to be working. then you won't be stressed over a commute. and in your free time just drive to the nearest t-station from wherever it is you end up living, take the train into the city, and do your thing. it's cheaper to park and take the t in than it is to drive into the city and pay for parking there. when i lived in ma i lived 35 miles south of the city, and it was no problem for me to just take the braintree t in on my day off or something, and do whatever i wanted to do for the day. i suggest you make the move, because on top of how great boston is, the kingsbury club is really nice too and i think you'd really enjoy it. and if you give it a go and find it isn't for you, then you don't have to stay, you can always move somewhere else!

Q: Should I take a job in Boston?
So I got a job offer to work at a physical therapy clinic at a place in Medfield, MA but there is no public transportation to get there. A: Forget Atlanta and come to Boston. This city has so much flavor you will love it. Amazing food, atmosphere, shopping hnaging out and the weather is great.

Q: New Sounds System in a 2008 Honda Accord?
just wondering if anyone could give some advice on what setup would be best. i dont want a new deck or speakers, just thinking bout adding a new subwoofer, im a noob at this, and just wondeirng if someone could give me some advice i am looking at the alpine x series (10") or the boston g5 (10") or perhaps a equivalent clarion 10" sub, what kind of amp and wiring do i need?

A: they are not really comparable subs, the alpine has like twice the RMS wattage handling as the others and the Boston sub is a much higher quality sub than the others i would go with the Bostons because they have the tune-able radiators http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=520&i=065GTR10&search=GTR+Tunable+Radiators&tp=111 ("passive radiators" — shallow, non-powered speakers designed to be used in conjunction with Boston G5 subwoofers. When mounted into a box along with a G5 sub, the radiator's cone moves with the air pressure created by the powered G5 sub, reinforcing bass output without requiring extra power. Adding this GTR10 passive radiator to a sub box with a 10" G5 subwoofer can increase output by up to 3 dB — that's almost twice the volume. And, since it's only 3 inches deep, you can add it to almost any sub box. The GTR10 has three tuning modes, allowing the listener to adjust the sound and bass output to their musical preferences and box size) after you pick a sub then you can think about the wattage (amp) and you want a mono class D amp. The RMS wattage rating of a sub measures how much power the sub can handle without suffering damage. The RMS wattage rating of an amp measures how much power the amp can produce. The closer these two ratings are to each other the better off you'll be. If you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering. When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good! You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub. here is how you choose your wiring http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learningcenter/car/cable_gauge_chart.html
