Q: Can I swap '04 Dodge Ram Infinity system and replace it with '05 Jeep Crand Cher. Boston Acoustics system?
I am wondering if anyone knows how simple, precaustions, etc... Can I take the Boston Acoustics sound system from a '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited and put it in my '04 Dodge Ram Quad Cab? I would ONLY swap amps and speakers- leaving the head units alone... SIMPLE??? Can it be done??? Anyone done it before??? I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP!!! Many thanks!!!

A: both of those systems use an amp system and they are little different ,if you can get a manual on the wiring diagram though it can be done,i seen a boy do it before ,but i didn't pay any attention the way he wired it,it didn't take him very long though, most of what he done was plug and un-plug things, good luck.

Q: would a 2007 dodge ram quad cab be good for a road trip to florida and back to boston?

A: It would be awesome and especially if you have the mds hemi, you would get purty good gas mileage.

Q: Is the factory Radio that comes in my 08 Dodge Avenger compatible to put in an amplifier?
I have the factory Boston Sound System put i wanted to put extra speakers and a sub-woofer box Any info will help Thank you

A: you will need an amp kit and you will need a high level converter like a pac-sni35. Basically you will tap the sni 35 in at one of the rear speakers and this will give you an amp hook up. The amp kit will have basic instructions on how to connect to the battery and the amp.

Q: Could anyone give advice on the following problem: two obnoxious Boston Bosox,Pats fans in office in the South
We have these two Boston Yankees who came south 15 years ago because times were tough in Boston. They complainant and badmouth everything about Dallas, texas and the cowboys, rangers baseball. We have offered them airfare back to boston to get them out of Dodge but they have became accustomed to our milk and honey. We are devising a plan to ship them south to Mexico with the next batch of illegal aliens or strap them atop a 18 wheeler heading north on I-95. When its game day and the Pats play this knothead goes ballistic and we are certain if Tom Brady get knocked out he will stroke out. Is this the typical Boston fans we are amused at his and laugh at this buffoon but sometimes they are just annoying. Salty, you know what all these professional players are just mercernaries going to the highest bidder. Cowboys, Pats players would sell their soul to the devil if he flashed the most cash, so the point I am making is it dont mean nothing. This is not the War between the states slick in the final analysis its just a kids game. Five, ten years from now no one will remember Brady, Romo so spend time with your children and loved ones cause they are the one that counts. mattapan: Beya, heya, thanks i will shout this slogan at this boston moran in our office and maybe it will settle him down. Incidently it does amuse me to hear youse guys pronounce " paaark thu Kaair". You can take the boy out of Boston but apparently you cannot take the Boston out of the boy.

A: Maybe you'll get rid of them when one of your Dallas teams can actually compete (let alone beat) the teams in Boston. .

Q: Help choosing SQ sub.Hear me out before you pass judgement. Some variables to be considered!Boston A or Alpine?
Ok,as some of you may or may not know,Im going for more of a sound quality set up.I have a 2007 dodge Quad cab...I have opted to go with Boston Acoustic pro components. The problem I have is Im going to use a prefab box that fits under the back seat.About 1 cu.ft per chamber.I was originally going to use Alpine Type R 10" because I have a pair not being used(brand new).I figured that since they would be covered or under the seat, sound quality would be affected regardless of what sub I use. So,logically I thought they would be an ok choice...(dont know if my assumptions are correct)BUT now Im having second thoughts...what do you think?I was thinking about Boston Acoustic 10"...not sure which models ,as I dont have listening experience with ANY NEWER model BA's.I have a 2 channel amp I will be using thats 1000 watts bridged(around about) or aproximate 475 x 2 @ 2 ohms...Its a Rockford Fosgate punch 150 limited edition 25 to life amp in case you were wondering.Any recommendations? Thanks Wquigley,I also have the punch 45 edition and fixing to get the 75 edition...Also have the OLDSCHOOL MODEL punch 75 and 1 punch 75HD and 2 punch 45hd and 1-punch 150 older models. All are sold except 2 punch 75's :D Also Erck...what is the sound quality of the memphis.Im not looking for SPL or mad bass.I listen to alternative rock... MDC I know that the subs wont sound the same...thats what makes my decision so difficult...I have never heard ANY SUB IN THAT BOX SET UP before? So Im shooting blind here.I couldnt really tell you how the sound will be affected being under the rear seat?I was going to get the rear console set up which fits in between, but I would lose 1 seating space and I have kids.Need the extra room and not to mention they would probably hit the exposed sub

A: Well, the 10" Bostons only require .5cubic feet per sub, so they would drop REAL LOW. If you go them, you'd have to be VERY careful on how much power you give them. When subs are in enclosures that're too large, they move a lot further, so power handling must be reduced. The Bostons will go real low, sounding great the whole way, and the TypeR's will sound okay. My vote is still for the Boston Acoustics. I'm partial to them since I got my G51044 with GTR.

Q: Why did my Dodge Caliber make so much road noise? ?
OK, I thought I wanted to but a Dodge caliber, and then I had a chance to rent one in Boston/ I drove it out on the Mass Pike and into the Boston suburbs. I like the car, but I decided that I could not live with the road noise. This car had about 26k on the odometer and was in decent shape for a rental. I was wondering if anyone who knows about cars can tell me why this car has so much road noise? Did I just have one with bad tires? I like to listen to music and I decided that the road noise was just too high to listen to music and would frustrate me, I mean as a commuter car. I guess I don't want this car. Or did I get a bad one?

A: depends on which model it was the caliper r/t edition has low profile tires that are a much stiffer ride and also create more road nose, it could all relate to how the car had been drove with previous renters ( spinning tires, e-braking, etc all effect how the tire makes contact with the road and can cause noise, pull and even vibrations. so the best suggestion would be to visit a dealer and drive a new caliber and see if you like it.

Q: Help me decide between boston acoustic pro or focal components?
Im looking for sound quality mostly, but I also want a speaker thats not afraid to get loud or of a little power.I want something thats not gonna lose to much SQ at loud volumes. This is a project Im working on in a dodge quad cab FYI.I want to basically replace all stock locations(which is front doors and rear doors in my case).I will also have 2-10 ich subs under the back seat(prefab for dodge) I will be running almost 1000watts to both subs so Im guessing about 500watts to all the new speakers Im thinking of getting?Any input would greatly be appreciated. Also,do you think front Kick panels enclosures added would be an overkill? So FOCAL or Boston Acoustic Pro line So your telling me that All my research of components...that everyone was wrong?I highly doubt it....Im talking COMPONENTS...you know, seperates?NOT SUBS....My research has led me to CDT components or Focal,or boston Acoustics and even POLK pro line Incase anyone wants to know...I havent decided on the subs yet.Since they will be under the seat with little airspace..SQ will probably be limited as well as SPL.Dont hate, but Im considering The Alpine Type R 10's for under the seat.I have personally heard these with little airspace and they sounded great....They had alot of power though.I have 1000 watts to work with on subs...but Im not asking about subs...6.5 or 5.25 or 6 x 9 is what Im looking for when I mentioned I was gonna use 500 watts RMS on the components I meant on all of them together.Example front pair and rear pair and possible kick panels...now if they are all at least 100watts RMS...times that by 4 is 400watts and then you add another 2 for kick panles is 600watts...The point is,I dont want to go over a total of 1500watts total system.1500 watts is already gonna be a nightmare in cost to upgrade power/electrical system

A: 2 Very great brands. Focals tend to have really bright/harsh treble due to their dome-metal cones on the tweeters, but overall they put out good sound. I'd go with the BostonPros, hands down. Some other great brands include; JL, CDT, Morel, Vifa, Eclipse, Alpine, Rainbow, Audiopulse, etc...

Q: Decision between 10" or 12" subs for Dodge Ram quad cab?
Im finally getting the subs I want.I cant decide between 10" or 12" subs.Im getting the boston Acoustics G5 series...Both are designed to operate in small spaces. The 10 inch model requires .50 cuft of airspace and the 12 " require 1.0 cuft each.I did find a custom built enclosure for both sizes however the largest one I could find for 12's was 1.8 cuft and one single chamber. Both subs will share the airspace.1.8cuft is only a tad off from the rquired 2.0 cuft.Im just wondering which sub will sound better.Has anyone who owns a dodge ram quad cab had any luck with 12" installs?Which do you think?I like bass but more concerned for clarity, accuracy and so forth. All of my other components are high quality for clarity from Alpine,CDT and Old Rockford Amps...around the 90's.All my wiring are Rockford wires(RCA's,power, etc).I spent a decent amount of money.I just want to be happy with my subs performance.Any suggestions?Advice from experienced audiophiles not from wanna be bass heads who like to say "my sh*t is louder than yours".

A: I have built around 20 custom boxes for ram's and I think my best install for pure quality was a guys 02. He had two 10" directed audio (the same guys who make viper alarms)sxd410's. I think I got 1.2 cubes total and it was surprising how well the handled everything from rap to rock. 12's in most cases do hit a little lower but need that airspace. With 1.8 to work with the .2 should not hurt the quality that much. Just use some polyfill to stuff the box. Stuffing it makes the speaker respond as if the box was bigger. I know it sounds butt backwards but its true. If you want that punch go with the 10's but if you want that boom go with the 12's. I hope I could help. Let me know what you decide.

Q: I am moving from east coast to west coast (boston to Seattle) and I am considering driving.?
I am moving and i am considering driving after i read one of the post here. Yahoo says 3000 miles, 45 hours! One post says it take 3 days, I wonder how. I have a 1999 dodge neon car which is good on gas. Please help me, how long can i drive in one day and how about sleep etc? Is it practical? Anyone has any experience? Now i think it is not practical because how can i get good sleep in a car, unless i get a tent with me and camp in between? Please help. I may consider selling the car as it cost me 1100$ to ship and it total worth is 2000$. Lets say i have stuff that i can fit in the car easily. Thanks for posting the answers. I am more interested in someones real experience who can give me valuable and practical advice. By the way i am alone and it is going to cost me $360 of fuel. If i consider motel, that may cost me extra 150$ which i think will be fun too. Thanks all esp Kitkat.

A: Its possible I drove from Seattle to Albuquerque New Mexico last December it took me about 2 days and I stayed In Utah over night. I wouldnt recommend selling your car and flying if you dont have the financial means to buy a car when you get to Seattle. You might be uncomfortable while sleeping but its possible. It will probably take you just short of 4 days if you do it by yourself but this is a good time of year and road conditions should be pretty good Good Luck in Seattle its a beautiful city

Q: why did the McCain Campaign lie about Sarah Palin and her Iraq trip?
The Associated Press is now reporting that the McCain Campaign is standing by their story that Governor Palin DID go to Iraq, had to dodge numerous attacks on her convoy and, when she finally shot her way into Baghdad there were 2.5 million Iraqis there to meet her. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/09/13/palin_camp_clarifies_extent_of_iraq_trip/

A: You mean a politician would exaggerate a story to get votes? Say it ain't so!

Q: A car sound system?
I have a 2008 dodge avenger that has 6 boston acoustic speakers. I don't know how many watts it has though. How can i figure out? Also, i have a 400 watt subs and amp, if i add that onto the car will the sound system be 400 watts or will it add onto it? like 400watt subs and amp + original watts of the car.

A: Your question is a bit confusing but basically if you dont have the box for the door speakers then try to look up the model number online and check the specs, thats really the only way you can figure that one out. About the subs, say they get 400 watts like you say they do that is just a number that the subs can handle it is not what they are going to get. The amp is the one that powers the subs so what ever the amp gives off is what your subs are getting just make sure to not get a amp that is going to over power 400watts.
